About the event
Mariner Gallery’s annual Plein Air Invitational brings New England’s foremost maritime painters to Newport where they spend a week capturing our iconic coastline, historic architecture, and landscapes. This event offers a rare opportunity to experience Newport through the eyes of living masters, watch their creative process unfold, and meet the artists in person. The resulting collection will be available for purchase on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Mariner Gallery, 267 Spring Street, Newport, RI.
The 2026 Newport Plein Air Invitational will feature works by Peter Arguimbau, Frank Corso, Joseph McGurl, Sergio Roffo, Leonard Mizerek, Desiree Zaslow, Mark Shasta, Bill Farnsworth, Tom Hughes, Geoffrey Leckie, John Grosvenor, Nathaniel Foote, Laura Cooper, and Zufar Bikbov.
